2013 Cadillac CTS-V vs. 2014 Volvo XC70 Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
The Cadillac CTS-V offers rear passengers about the same space to stretch out as the Volvo XC70 with comparable rear head- and legroom in both vehicles. Offering just a little more front head- and legroom than the Volvo XC70, the Cadillac CTS-V may be a little roomier and more comfortable for the driver and front seat passengers.

Convenience
With the Volvo XC70 you will definitely be making less frequent stops at the gas station than with the Cadillac CTS-V, due to its tank size and fuel economy.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). The Cadillac CTS-V will definitely make more of a dent in your wallet than the Volvo XC70, which has a much lower MSRP. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Cadillac CTS-V and the Volvo XC70 have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
The Cadillac CTS-V is a little narrower than the Volvo XC70, so you'll have an easier time getting in and out of the car in a tight parking spot. When looking at overall length, the Cadillac CTS-V takes up about the same amount of space in your garage as the Volvo XC70.

Drivetrain
Due to its much higher torque, the engine of the Cadillac CTS-V does a much better job of transmitting power to the wheels than the Volvo XC70.

Handling
The Cadillac CTS-V has about the same turning radius as the Volvo XC70, allowing equal maneuverability in and out of tight spots.

Performance
When it comes to horsepower, the Cadillac CTS-V has a much more powerful engine than the Volvo XC70. However, something you should consider is that higher horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Utility
In terms of seating you'll be able to fit the same number of people in both the Cadillac CTS-V and the Volvo XC70. The Cadillac CTS-V has significantly less cargo room than the Volvo XC70, which may be a concern if you do a lot of warehouse shopping.

Warranty
The Cadillac CTS-V comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Volvo XC70.
