2017 Cadillac ATS vs. 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
The Cadillac ATS offers rear passengers about the same space to stretch out as the Mercedes-Benz E-Class with comparable rear head- and legroom in both vehicles. Offering just a little more front head- and legroom than the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the Cadillac ATS may be a little roomier and more comfortable for the driver and front seat passengers.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). Based on MSRP, the Cadillac ATS is clearly a better financial choice over the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Cadillac ATS will cost more in transportation costs than the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

Dimensions
Since the Cadillac ATS is much wider than the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, finding a wide enough spot in a parking lot may be a bit more challenging. When looking at overall length, the Cadillac ATS takes up about the same amount of space in your garage as the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

Drivetrain
With its lower torque, the Cadillac ATS doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

Handling
The Cadillac ATS has a larger turning radius than the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, making it slightly more difficult to maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
The Cadillac ATS has less horsepower than the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, so it will probably be somewhat slower.

Utility
In terms of seating you'll be able to fit the same number of people in both the Cadillac ATS and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. You'll be able to fit about the same amount of groceries into the Cadillac ATS as you will in the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

Warranty
The Cadillac ATS comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
