2014 Cadillac ATS vs. 2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
The Cadillac ATS offers rear passengers about the same space to stretch out as the Mercedes-Benz C-Class with comparable rear head- and legroom in both vehicles. The Cadillac ATS will be a favorite with taller drivers due to its greater front head- and legroom than the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

Convenience
You'll be making about the same number of stops at the gas station with the Cadillac ATS as you will with the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, as they get the same number of miles per tank of gas.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). Whether you pick the Cadillac ATS or the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, it's going to cost you about the same. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Cadillac ATS and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
The Cadillac ATS is a little wider than the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, so getting in and out of the car in a crowded parking lot may be a little more of a squeeze. When looking at overall length, the Cadillac ATS takes up about the same amount of space in your garage as the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

Drivetrain
With its lower torque, the Cadillac ATS doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

Handling
The Cadillac ATS has a larger turning radius than the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, making it slightly more difficult to maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
The Cadillac ATS has less horsepower than the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, so it will probably be somewhat slower.

Utility
In terms of seating you'll be able to fit the same number of people in both the Cadillac ATS and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. The Cadillac ATS has less cargo capacity than the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, which is okay if you don't need to move a lot in one trip.

Warranty
The Cadillac ATS comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
