2016 BMW Z4 vs. 2016 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between the BMW Z4 and the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class in the front seats.

Convenience
With the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class you will definitely be making less frequent stops at the gas station than with the BMW Z4, due to its tank size and fuel economy.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). Based on MSRP, the BMW Z4 is clearly a better financial choice over the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The BMW Z4 will cost more in transportation costs than the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class.

Dimensions
Since the BMW Z4 is much slimmer than the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. If you go with the BMW Z4, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class.

Drivetrain
With its lower torque, the BMW Z4 doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class.

Handling
The BMW Z4 has a smaller turning radius than the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class, allowing you to more easily maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
The BMW Z4 has less horsepower than the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class, so it will probably be somewhat slower.

Utility
In terms of seating you'll be able to fit the same number of people in both the BMW Z4 and the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class. The BMW Z4 has significantly less cargo room than the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class, which may be a concern if you do a lot of warehouse shopping.

Warranty
The BMW Z4 comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class.
