2014 BMW X6 vs. 2015 Mercedes-Benz M-Class Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
Passengers in the backseat will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Mercedes-Benz M-Class than in the BMW X6, due to its greater head- and legroom. The Mercedes-Benz M-Class will be a hit with tall drivers and their front seat passengers, since it has greater front head- and legroom than the BMW X6.

Convenience
You'll be making about the same number of stops at the gas station with the BMW X6 as you will with the Mercedes-Benz M-Class, as they are both able to travel similar distances on a tank of gas.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the BMW X6 will have less of an impact on your bank account than the Mercedes-Benz M-Class. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. Both the BMW X6 and the Mercedes-Benz M-Class have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
Since the BMW X6 is much wider than the Mercedes-Benz M-Class, finding a wide enough spot in a parking lot may be a bit more challenging. When looking at overall length, the BMW X6 takes up about the same amount of space in your garage as the Mercedes-Benz M-Class.

Drivetrain
With its lower torque engine, the BMW X6 doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Mercedes-Benz M-Class.

Handling
The BMW X6 has a larger turning radius than the Mercedes-Benz M-Class, making it slightly more difficult to maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
In terms of towing capacity, the Mercedes-Benz M-Class is clearly the choice over the BMW X6 for pulling heavy loads. The BMW X6 has a little less horsepower than the Mercedes-Benz M-Class.

Utility
In terms of seating, you'll be able to fit about the same number of people in both the BMW X6 and the Mercedes-Benz M-Class. The BMW X6 has significantly less cargo capacity than the Mercedes-Benz M-Class.

Warranty
The BMW X6 comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Mercedes-Benz M-Class.
