2016 BMW X3 vs. 2016 Volvo XC90 Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
The BMW X3 offers rear passengers about the same room to stretch out as the Volvo XC90, with comparable head- and legroom. As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between front seat comfort in the BMW X3 and the Volvo XC90.

Convenience
Due to the larger tank size and better fuel economy of the BMW X3, you will definitely be making fewer stops at the gas station than with the Volvo XC90.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the BMW X3 will have less of an impact on your bank account than the Volvo XC90. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. Both the BMW X3 and the Volvo XC90 have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
Since the BMW X3 is much slimmer than the Volvo XC90, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. If you go with the BMW X3, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the Volvo XC90.

Drivetrain
With its lower torque engine, the BMW X3 doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Volvo XC90.

Performance
When it comes to horsepower, the BMW X3 has a lot less horsepower than the Volvo XC90.

Utility
The BMW X3 has less seating than the Volvo XC90, making the Volvo XC90 the better choice, if you need to chauffeur many passengers. The BMW X3 has significantly less cargo capacity than the Volvo XC90.

Warranty
The BMW X3 comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Volvo XC90.
