2014 BMW X1 vs. 2014 Nissan Pathfinder Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
Passengers in the backseat will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Nissan Pathfinder than in the BMW X1, due to its greater head- and legroom. The Nissan Pathfinder will be a hit with tall drivers and their front seat passengers, since it has greater front head- and legroom than the BMW X1.

Convenience
You'll be making about the same number of stops at the gas station with the BMW X1 as you will with the Nissan Pathfinder, as they are both able to travel similar distances on a tank of gas.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the BMW X1 will have less of an impact on your bank account than the Nissan Pathfinder. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The BMW X1 will cost more in terms of transportation costs than the Nissan Pathfinder.

Dimensions
Since the BMW X1 is much slimmer than the Nissan Pathfinder, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. If you go with the BMW X1, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the Nissan Pathfinder.

Drivetrain
With somewhat higher torque, the BMW X1 transmits power to its wheels a bit more effectively than the Nissan Pathfinder.

Handling
The BMW X1 has the same turning radius as the Nissan Pathfinder, so they both maneuver the same in and out of tight spots.

Performance
The BMW X1 has a little less horsepower than the Nissan Pathfinder.

Utility
The BMW X1 has less seating than the Nissan Pathfinder, making the Nissan Pathfinder the better choice, if you need to chauffeur many passengers. The BMW X1 has significantly less cargo capacity than the Nissan Pathfinder.

Warranty
You'll have greater peace of mind with the more generous basic warranty of the BMW X1 than that of the Nissan Pathfinder.
