2016 BMW X1 vs. 2016 GMC Terrain Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
Passengers in the backseat will be able to stretch out a lot more in the GMC Terrain than in the BMW X1, due to its greater head- and legroom. The BMW X1 offers just a little more front head- and legroom than the GMC Terrain, making it a little more comfortable for the driver and front passenger.

Convenience
You'll be making about the same number of stops at the gas station with the BMW X1 as you will with the GMC Terrain, as they are both able to travel similar distances on a tank of gas.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). The BMW X1 is somewhat more expensive than the GMC Terrain. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The BMW X1 will cost more in terms of transportation costs than the GMC Terrain.

Dimensions
The BMW X1 is a little narrower than the GMC Terrain, so you'll have an easier time getting in and out of the car in a tight parking spot. If you go with the BMW X1, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the GMC Terrain.

Drivetrain
Due to its much higher torque, the BMW X1 does a much better job of transmitting its engine's horsepower to its wheels than the GMC Terrain.

Handling
The BMW X1 has a smaller turning radius than the GMC Terrain, allowing you to more easily maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
When it comes to horsepower, the BMW X1 has a lot less horsepower than the GMC Terrain.

Utility
In terms of seating, you'll be able to fit about the same number of people in both the BMW X1 and the GMC Terrain. The BMW X1 has less cargo space than the GMC Terrain, which is okay if you don't need to move a lot in one trip.

Warranty
You'll have greater peace of mind with the more generous basic warranty of the BMW X1 than that of the GMC Terrain.
