2014 BMW 550 vs. 2013 Cadillac CTS-V Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
The BMW 550 offers rear passengers about the same space to stretch out as the Cadillac CTS-V with comparable rear head- and legroom in both vehicles. As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between the BMW 550 and the Cadillac CTS-V in the front seats.

Convenience
With the BMW 550 you will definitely be making fewer stops at the gas station than with the Cadillac CTS-V, due to its larger tank size and better fuel economy.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). Whether you pick the BMW 550 or the Cadillac CTS-V, it's going to cost you about the same. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The BMW 550 and the Cadillac CTS-V have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
The BMW 550 is about the same width as the Cadillac CTS-V. When looking at overall length, the BMW 550 takes up about the same amount of space in your garage as the Cadillac CTS-V.

Drivetrain
With its lower torque, the BMW 550 doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Cadillac CTS-V.

Handling
The BMW 550 has a larger turning radius than the Cadillac CTS-V, making it slightly more difficult to maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
The BMW 550 has less horsepower than the Cadillac CTS-V, so it will probably be somewhat slower.

Utility
In terms of seating you'll be able to fit the same number of people in both the BMW 550 and the Cadillac CTS-V. You'll be able to fit about the same amount of groceries into the BMW 550 as you will in the Cadillac CTS-V.

Warranty
The BMW 550 comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Cadillac CTS-V.
