2013 BMW 128 vs. 2014 Volkswagen GTI Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
Passengers in the back seat will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Volkswagen GTI than the BMW 128, due to its greater head- and legroom. Offering just a little more front head- and legroom than the BMW 128, drivers may find the Volkswagen GTI a little roomier and somewhat more comfortable.

Convenience
The Volkswagen GTI requires fewer visits to the gas station than the BMW 128, making it more convenient to drive.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). The BMW 128 will definitely make more of a dent in your wallet than the Volkswagen GTI, which has a much lower MSRP. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Destination Charge for the BMW 128 is much higher than that for the Volkswagen GTI.

Dimensions
The BMW 128 is a little narrower than the Volkswagen GTI, so you'll have an easier time getting in and out of the car in a tight parking spot. For some people, bigger is better. If that's the case for you, then you'll be happier with the BMW 128, which is slightly longer than the Volkswagen GTI.

Drivetrain
With its lower torque, the BMW 128 doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Volkswagen GTI.

Handling
The BMW 128 has a smaller turning radius than the Volkswagen GTI, allowing you to more easily maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
When it comes to horsepower, the BMW 128 is somewhat more powerful than the Volkswagen GTI.

Utility
The BMW 128 has less seating than the Volkswagen GTI, making the Volkswagen GTI the better choice if you need to chauffeur many passengers. The BMW 128 has significantly less cargo room than the Volkswagen GTI, which may be a concern if you do a lot of warehouse shopping.

Warranty
You'll have greater peace of mind with the more generous basic warranty of the BMW 128 than that of the Volkswagen GTI.
