2015 Audi S5 vs. 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Review

Comparison Review

Due to its greater rear head- and legroom, backseat passengers will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Audi S5 than the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Offering just a little more front head- and legroom than the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the Audi S5 may be a little roomier and more comfortable for the driver and front seat passengers.

With the Mercedes-Benz E-Class you will definitely be making less frequent stops at the gas station than with the Audi S5, due to its tank size and fuel economy.

There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the Audi S5 will have less of an impact on your bank account than the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Audi S5 and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class have similar Destination Charges.

Since the Audi S5 is much wider than the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, finding a wide enough spot in a parking lot may be a bit more challenging. When looking at overall length, the Audi S5 takes up about the same amount of space in your garage as the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

With its lower torque, the Audi S5 doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

The Audi S5 has a larger turning radius than the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, making it slightly more difficult to maneuver in and out of tight spots.

In terms of horsepower, it's basically a tie between the Audi S5 and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

In terms of seating you'll be able to fit the same number of people in both the Audi S5 and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. The Audi S5 has less cargo capacity than the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, which is okay if you don't need to move a lot in one trip.

The Audi S5 comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
