2014 Audi S5 vs. 2013 BMW M3 Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
The Audi S5 offers rear passengers about the same space to stretch out as the BMW M3 with comparable rear head- and legroom in both vehicles. Offering just a little more front head- and legroom than the BMW M3, the Audi S5 may be a little roomier and more comfortable for the driver and front seat passengers.

Convenience
With the Audi S5 you will definitely be making fewer stops at the gas station than with the BMW M3, due to its larger tank size and better fuel economy.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the Audi S5 will have less of an impact on your bank account than the BMW M3. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Audi S5 and the BMW M3 have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
Since the Audi S5 is much wider than the BMW M3, finding a wide enough spot in a parking lot may be a bit more challenging. When looking at overall length, the Audi S5 takes up about the same amount of space in your garage as the BMW M3.

Drivetrain
With somewhat higher torque, the engine of the Audi S5 transmits a bit more power to the wheels than the BMW M3.

Handling
The Audi S5 has a smaller turning radius than the BMW M3, allowing you to more easily maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
The Audi S5 has less horsepower than the BMW M3, so it will probably be somewhat slower.

Utility
In terms of seating you'll be able to fit the same number of people in both the Audi S5 and the BMW M3. The Audi S5 has significantly less cargo room than the BMW M3, which may be a concern if you do a lot of warehouse shopping.

Warranty
The Audi S5 comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the BMW M3.
