2016 Audi A3 vs. 2017 Audi A4 Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
Passengers in the back seat will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Audi A4 than the Audi A3, due to its greater head- and legroom. As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between the Audi A3 and the Audi A4 in the front seats.

Convenience
The Audi A3 will require fewer stops at the gas station than the Audi A4, making it more convenient to drive.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the Audi A3 will have less of an impact on your bank account than the Audi A4. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Audi A3 and the Audi A4 have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
Since the Audi A3 is much slimmer than the Audi A4, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. If you go with the Audi A3, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the Audi A4.

Drivetrain
With its lower torque, the Audi A3 doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Audi A4.

Handling
The Audi A3 has a smaller turning radius than the Audi A4, allowing you to more easily maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
When it comes to horsepower, the Audi A3 is significantly less powerful than the Audi A4. The good news is that, reportedly, cars with lower horsepower engines often have lower insurance premiums.

Utility
In terms of seating you'll be able to fit the same number of people in both the Audi A3 and the Audi A4.

Warranty
The Audi A3 comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Audi A4.
