2014 Acura TL vs. 2015 Lexus IS 350 Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
Due to its greater rear head- and legroom, backseat passengers will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Acura TL than the Lexus IS 350. The Lexus IS 350 will be a favorite with taller drivers due to its greater front head- and legroom than the Acura TL.

Convenience
You'll be making about the same number of stops at the gas station with the Acura TL as you will with the Lexus IS 350, as they get the same number of miles per tank of gas.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the Acura TL will have less of an impact on your bank account than the Lexus IS 350. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. The Acura TL and the Lexus IS 350 have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
Since the Acura TL is much wider than the Lexus IS 350, finding a wide enough spot in a parking lot may be a bit more challenging. If you go with the Acura TL, you may be circling the block looking for a space large enough to park more often than with the Lexus IS 350.

Drivetrain
With its lower torque, the Acura TL doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Lexus IS 350.

Handling
The Acura TL has a significantly larger turning radius than the Lexus IS 350, making it much more difficult to maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
The Acura TL has less horsepower than the Lexus IS 350, so it will probably be somewhat slower.

Utility
In terms of seating you'll be able to fit the same number of people in both the Acura TL and the Lexus IS 350. The Acura TL has less cargo capacity than the Lexus IS 350, which is okay if you don't need to move a lot in one trip.

Warranty
The Acura TL comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Lexus IS 350.
