2014 Acura RDX vs. 2015 Kia Sorento Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
Passengers in the backseat will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Kia Sorento than in the Acura RDX, due to its greater head- and legroom. As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between front seat comfort in the Acura RDX and the Kia Sorento.

Convenience
You'll be making about the same number of stops at the gas station with the Acura RDX as you will with the Kia Sorento, as they are both able to travel similar distances on a tank of gas.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). The Acura RDX is somewhat more expensive than the Kia Sorento. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. Both the Acura RDX and the Kia Sorento have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
The Acura RDX is about the same width as the Kia Sorento. When looking at overall length, the Acura RDX takes up about the same amount of space in your garage as the Kia Sorento.

Drivetrain
With similar torque, the Acura RDX and the Kia Sorento are about even in transmitting their respective horsepower to the wheels.

Handling
The Acura RDX has a larger turning radius than the Kia Sorento, making it slightly more difficult to maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
In terms of towing capacity, the Kia Sorento is clearly the choice over the Acura RDX for pulling heavy loads. The Acura RDX has a little less horsepower than the Kia Sorento.

Utility
The Acura RDX has less seating than the Kia Sorento, making the Kia Sorento the better choice, if you need to chauffeur many passengers. The Acura RDX has less cargo space than the Kia Sorento, which is okay if you don't need to move a lot in one trip.

Warranty
The basic warranty of the Acura RDX is not as nearly as extensive as that of the Kia Sorento.
