2014 Acura RDX vs. 2014 BMW X1 Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
Rear passengers will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Acura RDX than in the BMW X1. The BMW X1 will be a hit with tall drivers and their front seat passengers, since it has greater front head- and legroom than the Acura RDX.

Convenience
With the BMW X1, you will definitely be making fewer stops at the gas station than with the Acura RDX, due to its tank size and fuel economy.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). The Acura RDX is somewhat more expensive than the BMW X1. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. Both the Acura RDX and the BMW X1 have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
Since the Acura RDX is much wider than the BMW X1, finding a wide enough spot in a parking lot may be a bit more challenging. For some people, bigger is better. If that's the case for you, then you'll be happier with the Acura RDX, which is slightly longer than the BMW X1.

Drivetrain
With its lower torque engine, the Acura RDX doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the BMW X1.

Handling
The Acura RDX has the same turning radius as the BMW X1, so they both maneuver the same in and out of tight spots.

Performance
The Acura RDX has a little more horsepower than the BMW X1.

Utility
In terms of seating, you'll be able to fit about the same number of people in both the Acura RDX and the BMW X1. The Acura RDX has a roomier cargo area for putting your bags or other items than the BMW X1.

Warranty
The Acura RDX comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the BMW X1.
