2017 Acura MDX vs. 2017 Volvo XC90 Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
The Acura MDX offers a bit more room for passengers in the back seat than the Volvo XC90. As far as headroom and legroom go, there's not much difference between front seat comfort in the Acura MDX and the Volvo XC90.

Convenience
You'll be making about the same number of stops at the gas station with the Acura MDX as you will with the Volvo XC90, as they are both able to travel similar distances on a tank of gas.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the Acura MDX will have less of an impact on your bank account than the Volvo XC90. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. Both the Acura MDX and the Volvo XC90 have similar Destination Charges.

Dimensions
The Acura MDX is a little narrower than the Volvo XC90, so you'll have an easier time getting in and out of the car in a tight parking spot. When looking at overall length, the Acura MDX takes up about the same amount of space in your garage as the Volvo XC90.

Drivetrain
With its lower torque engine, the Acura MDX doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Volvo XC90.

Handling
The Acura MDX has a smaller turning radius than the Volvo XC90, allowing you to more easily maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
If you've got something you need to pull, the Acura MDX will do just as well as the Volvo XC90, since they have about the same towing capacity. The Acura MDX has a little less horsepower than the Volvo XC90.

Utility
In terms of seating, you'll be able to fit about the same number of people in both the Acura MDX and the Volvo XC90. The Acura MDX has a roomier cargo area for putting your bags or other items than the Volvo XC90.

Warranty
The Acura MDX comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Volvo XC90.
