2016 Acura MDX vs. 2016 Land Rover LR4 Review

Comparison Review

Comfort
Passengers in the backseat will be able to stretch out a lot more in the Land Rover LR4 than in the Acura MDX, due to its greater head- and legroom. The Land Rover LR4 will be a hit with tall drivers and their front seat passengers, since it has greater front head- and legroom than the Acura MDX.

Convenience
The Acura MDX requires fewer stops at the gas station than the Land Rover LR4, making it more convenient to drive.

Cost
There are a lot of factors to consider when calculating the overall cost of a vehicle. The main consideration is Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). When looking only at MSRP, the Acura MDX will have less of an impact on your bank account than the Land Rover LR4. Another consideration is the Destination Charge, which is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle to the dealer from where it's built. In this case, the Acura MDX will cost less to deliver to the dealership than the Land Rover LR4.

Dimensions
Since the Acura MDX is much wider than the Land Rover LR4, finding a wide enough spot in a parking lot may be a bit more challenging. When looking at overall length, the Acura MDX takes up about the same amount of space in your garage as the Land Rover LR4.

Drivetrain
With its lower torque engine, the Acura MDX doesn't do as good a job transmitting power to its wheels as the Land Rover LR4.

Handling
The Acura MDX has a larger turning radius than the Land Rover LR4, making it slightly more difficult to maneuver in and out of tight spots.

Performance
In terms of towing capacity, the Land Rover LR4 is clearly the choice over the Acura MDX for pulling heavy loads. The Acura MDX has a little less horsepower than the Land Rover LR4.

Utility
In terms of seating, you'll be able to fit about the same number of people in both the Acura MDX and the Land Rover LR4. The Acura MDX has significantly less cargo capacity than the Land Rover LR4.

Warranty
The Acura MDX comes with essentially the same basic warranty as the Land Rover LR4.
