Porsche Boxster vs. Lexus IS 250C Review

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs approximately the same to get the Lexus to the dealership as the Porsche Boxster. The Porsche Boxster is tremendously costlier than the Lexus regarding MSRP.

Utility
Drivers with frequent kid-duty might favor the Lexus IS 250C over the Porsche.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Porsche Boxster offers a bit more head room than the IS 250C, there honestly isn't much of a difference.

Dimensions
The Lexus IS 250C is tremendously heavier than the Porsche Boxster. The Porsche Boxster's tank is approximately the same size as the IS 250C's, though the Lexus's is slightly larger. The Porsche and the Lexus compete for the same parking spaces. The Lexus IS 250C's longer wheelbase will result in a smoother, more stable ride; on the flip side, the Porsche may give a more agile feel in daily traffic.

Performance
With respect to horsepower, the Porsche packs quite a wallop and will knock the Lexus down a few rungs. On the other hand, keep in mind that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums. With that kind of horsepower, the Porsche Boxster is a genuine speedster.

Handling
With its tighter turning circle, the Lexus is most certainly more maneuverable than the Porsche Boxster, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; however, bear in mind that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Lexus IS 250C's engine is substantially smaller than the Porsche Boxster's. Note that a smaller engine usually has to work a little harder; on the other hand, smaller engines are often cheaper to fix. Torque is roughly equivalent to acceleration, and in this respect, the Porsche Boxster is considerably more powerful than the Lexus IS 250C. Torque equals pickup, and the Porsche will have picked up and gone by the time the Lexus IS 250C finally gets moving.
