Porsche Boxster vs. Chevrolet Corvette Review

Utility
The Porsche Boxster and the Chevrolet can accommodate the same number of passengers.

Performance
With that kind of horsepower, both the Porsche Boxster and the Chevrolet Corvette are legitimate speedsters. With respect to horsepower, the Chevrolet Corvette packs quite a wallop and will knock the Porsche Boxster down a few rungs. However, remember that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Dimensions
The Chevrolet Corvette is tremendously heavier than the Porsche Boxster. The Porsche Boxster's tank is approximately the same size as the Chevrolet's, though the Chevrolet's is a little bigger. The Porsche Boxster and the Chevrolet compete for the same parking spaces. The Porsche's shorter wheelbase will give a nimbler feel in daily traffic. However, the Chevrolet is likely to have a smoother, more stable ride.

Cost
In terms of MSRP, the Corvette costs almost as much as the Porsche Boxster (though the Porsche Boxster is slightly cheaper).

Handling
With their comparable turning circles, the Porsche Boxster and the Chevrolet definitely handle about the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Chevrolet Corvette has a larger engine than the Porsche Boxster. Remember that smaller engines are often cheaper to fix, but smaller engines can be stressed more. The Porsche Boxster could learn a lesson or two from the Chevrolet when it comes to torque. Torque is roughly equivalent to acceleration, and in this respect, the Corvette is tremendously more powerful than the Porsche Boxster.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Porsche offers a bit more head room than the Chevrolet Corvette, there honestly isn't much of a difference.

Warranty
The basic warranty that comes with the Chevrolet Corvette isn't quite as generous as the Porsche Boxster's.
