Porsche Boxster vs. BMW M6 Review

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. The BMW M6 is considerably cheaper to get to the dealership than the Porsche Boxster. The Porsche is tremendously less costly than the BMW M6 with respect to MSRP.

Utility
The BMW M6 will most definitely prove more convenient than the Porsche Boxster for those of you with frequent kid-cargo.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Porsche Boxster offers a bit more head room than the BMW M6, there really isn't much of a difference.

Dimensions
The BMW M6 is tremendously heavier than the Porsche Boxster. The Porsche's tank is almost the same size as the BMW M6's, though the BMW M6's is a bit larger. The Boxster and the BMW M6 compete for the same parking spaces. The BMW M6's longer wheelbase will likely result in a smoother, more stable ride; however, the Porsche Boxster may give a more maneuverable feel in daily traffic.

Performance
With respect to horsepower, the BMW packs quite a punch and will knock the Porsche down a few rungs. However, keep in mind that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Handling
With its tighter turning circle, the Boxster is most certainly nimbler than the BMW M6, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; on the other hand, bear in mind that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The BMW's engine is tremendously more massive than the Porsche Boxster's. Keep in mind that larger engines may use more gasoline than smaller ones. Torque is the force that lets you accelerate quickly, and in this respect, the BMW is tremendously more powerful than the Porsche Boxster. The BMW M6 packs quite a wallop compared to the Porsche Boxster with respect to torque, which is roughly equivalent to acceleration.

Warranty
The BMW M6 and the Porsche have the same basic warranty.
