Pontiac Vibe vs. Volvo V50 Review

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. The Vibe is quite a bit cheaper to get to the dealership than the Volvo V50. The Pontiac Vibe will save you money at the pump compared to the V50. There really isn't much of a difference in gas mileage here, but if you must know, the Pontiac Vibe is slightly more economical than the V50. As far as MSRP, the Volvo V50 costs tremendously more than the Pontiac Vibe.

Utility
The Volvo V50 is a better choice than the Pontiac regarding transporting cargo, especially if you often need to carry a lot of equipment or massive animals. Neither the Pontiac Vibe nor the V50 has a marked advantage as far as seating capacity. The Volvo outpulls the Pontiac Vibe by a big margin.

Convenience
The Pontiac Vibe's fuel tank will need to be replenished slightly more often than the unit in the V50.

Comfort
Taller drivers will significantly enjoy the extra head room in the Pontiac Vibe's front cabin compared to the Volvo V50. The ampler interior dimensions of the Pontiac Vibe make it substantially more spacious for your passengers than the Volvo V50.

Dimensions
The Pontiac Vibe is likely to feel a bit sluggish because of its high horsepower-to-weight ratio compared to the V50. Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the Volvo V50 than the Pontiac Vibe because of its more capacious tank. The Pontiac Vibe and the Volvo V50 compete for the same parking spaces.

Performance
With respect to horsepower, the Volvo V50 packs quite a wallop and will knock the Pontiac Vibe down a few rungs. On the flip side, remember that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums. The Vibe is likely to feel slightly slow because of its high horsepower-to-weight ratio compared to the Volvo.

Handling
With their similar turning radiuses, the Volvo V50 and the Pontiac Vibe very likely handle about the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Volvo V50's engine is markedly more sizeable than the Pontiac Vibe's. Note that larger engines may use more gasoline than smaller ones. The Pontiac could learn a lesson or two from the Volvo V50 in terms of torque. The Volvo V50 packs quite a punch compared to the Pontiac Vibe when it comes to torque, which is roughly equivalent to acceleration.

Overview
The basic warranty that comes with the Pontiac Vibe isn't quite as generous as the Volvo V50's.
