The Legacy's larger trunk will accommodate more large items than the Pontiac Vibe. The Pontiac Vibe and the Subaru Legacy can accommodate the same number of passengers. Towing is substantially more the Subaru Legacy's forte than it is the Pontiac Vibe's.

Performance
Regarding horsepower, the Legacy packs quite a punch and will knock the Pontiac Vibe down a few rungs. However, keep in mind that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Dimensions
The Subaru Legacy is markedly more ponderous than the Pontiac. Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the Subaru Legacy than the Vibe because of its more capacious tank. The Pontiac Vibe and the Subaru Legacy compete for the same parking spaces.
