As far as gas mileage, the Hyundai Elantra Touring has the Pontiac Vibe beat. Producing an accurate fuel economy evaluation is so difficult that some think not even the federal government can do it, but it looks as though the Hyundai Elantra Touring is the winner in terms of gas mileage. The Elantra Touring isn't much less costly than the Pontiac Vibe regarding MSRP.

Utility
Neither the Vibe nor the Elantra Touring has a marked advantage as far as seating capacity. Towing is substantially more the Pontiac Vibe's forte than it is the Hyundai Elantra Touring's.

Convenience
You will have to visit your friendly gas station more often with the Vibe than with the Elantra Touring.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Vibe offers a bit more head room than the Hyundai Elantra Touring, there honestly isn't much of a difference. The Hyundai Elantra Touring is not particularly more spacious for your passengers than the Pontiac Vibe.

Dimensions
The Pontiac's tank is approximately the same size as the Hyundai Elantra Touring's, though the Hyundai Elantra Touring's is a bit larger. The Pontiac Vibe and the Elantra Touring compete for the same parking spaces.

Handling
With their comparable turning circles, the Hyundai and the Pontiac most definitely handle approximately the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Elantra Touring's engine isn't much bigger than the Vibe's. Torque is the force that lets you accelerate quickly, and in this respect, the Hyundai Elantra Touring isn't much more powerful than the Pontiac Vibe.

Warranty
The basic after-sale protection that comes with the Vibe isn't quite as generous as the Hyundai Elantra Touring's.
