The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. The Torrent is significantly cheaper to get to the dealership than the Toyota 4Runner. The Toyota doesn't pale in comparison to the Pontiac Torrent in terms of gas mileage. The Toyota guzzles a lot of gas compared to the Torrent. As far as MSRP, the Pontiac Torrent costs significantly less than the Toyota 4Runner.

Utility
Neither the Toyota 4Runner nor the Pontiac Torrent has a marked advantage when it comes to seating capacity. Towing is considerably more the Toyota's forte than it is the Pontiac Torrent's.

Convenience
The Pontiac Torrent's fuel tank will need to be replenished somewhat more often than the unit in the Toyota 4Runner.

Comfort
Taller drivers will substantially enjoy the extra head room in the Pontiac Torrent's front cabin compared to the Toyota 4Runner. The Pontiac Torrent offers more head- and leg-room to your passengers than the 4Runner does.

Dimensions
The Toyota 4Runner is considerably more bulky than the Pontiac. Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the Toyota 4Runner than the Pontiac Torrent because of its larger tank. The Pontiac Torrent and the Toyota 4Runner compete for the same parking spaces.

Handling
With its tighter turning radius, the Toyota 4Runner is most certainly more agile than the Pontiac Torrent, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; however, remember that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Pontiac's engine is considerably smaller than the Toyota's. Remember that smaller engines can be stressed more; however, smaller engines typically get better gas mileage. Torque equals pickup, and the Toyota 4Runner will have picked up and gone by the time the Pontiac Torrent finally gets moving. The 4Runner packs quite a wallop compared to the Pontiac Torrent as far as torque, which is roughly equivalent to acceleration.
