Pontiac Torrent vs. Subaru Tribeca Review

Handling
With its tighter turning radius, the Tribeca is definitely more agile than the Pontiac Torrent, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; however, note that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Tribeca's engine isn't much larger than the Pontiac Torrent's. Torque is the force that lets you accelerate quickly, and in this respect, the Subaru is considerably more powerful than the Pontiac Torrent. Torque equals pickup, and the Tribeca will have picked up and gone by the time the Pontiac finally gets moving.

Utility
The Subaru Tribeca will most certainly prove more convenient than the Pontiac Torrent for those of you with frequent child-cargo. The Pontiac Torrent outpulls the Tribeca by a big margin.

Convenience
The Subaru Tribeca's fuel tank will need to be replenished more often than the unit in the Pontiac Torrent.

Comfort
Taller drivers will significantly enjoy the extra head room in the Pontiac Torrent's front cabin compared to the Tribeca. The Pontiac offers more head- and leg-room to your passengers than the Tribeca does.

Dimensions
The Subaru Tribeca is significantly heavier than the Torrent. Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the Pontiac Torrent than the Subaru Tribeca because of its bigger tank. The Torrent and the Subaru compete for the same parking spaces.

Cost
Producing an accurate fuel economy evaluation is so difficult that some think not even the federal government can do it, but it looks as though both the Pontiac Torrent and the Pontiac Torrent perform approximately comparably in terms of fuel economy. The Subaru Tribeca pales in comparison to the Pontiac Torrent in terms of fuel economy. In terms of MSRP, the Subaru Tribeca costs approximately as much as the Pontiac Torrent (though the Pontiac Torrent is somewhat cheaper).
