Pontiac Torrent vs. Saturn VUE Review

Handling
With their similar turning radii, the Saturn VUE and the Pontiac Torrent quite certainly handle roughly the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The Pontiac Torrent's engine is significantly larger than the Saturn VUE's. Note that more sizeable engines may use more gasoline than smaller ones. Torque equals pickup, and the Pontiac Torrent will have picked up and gone by the time the Saturn VUE finally gets moving. The Pontiac packs quite a punch compared to the Saturn VUE with respect to torque, which is roughly equivalent to acceleration.

Utility
Neither the VUE nor the Pontiac has a marked advantage regarding seating capacity.

Convenience
You'll definitely take the Saturn for a fill-up about as often as the Pontiac Torrent.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Pontiac Torrent offers a bit more head room than the Saturn VUE, there really isn't much of a difference. The Pontiac Torrent offers more head- and leg-room to your passengers than the Saturn does.

Dimensions
The Saturn's tank is roughly the same size as the Pontiac Torrent's, though the Pontiac's is a tad larger. The Saturn VUE and the Torrent compete for the same parking spaces.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs about the same to get the Pontiac to the dealership as the Saturn. The Pontiac Torrent is substantially pricier than the Saturn VUE as far as MSRP.

Warranty
The Pontiac Torrent and the Saturn VUE have the same basic warranty.
