It costs approximately the same to get the Pontiac Torrent to the dealership as the Honda. The Pontiac Torrent pales in comparison to the Honda as far as gas mileage. The Pontiac Torrent consumes a lot of gasoline compared to the Honda CR-V. The Pontiac Torrent isn't much less expensive than the Honda CR-V as far as MSRP.

Utility
There's no obvious winner between the Honda CR-V and the Pontiac Torrent regarding transporting cargo. The Pontiac and the Honda can accommodate the same number of passengers. Towing is quite a bit more the Torrent's forte than it is the Honda's.

Convenience
You'll quite certainly have to take the Torrent for a fill-up more often than the Honda because of its tank size and gas mileage.

With its tighter turning circle, the Honda CR-V is definitely sprier than the Pontiac Torrent, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; on the flip side, keep in mind that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

The Honda CR-V's engine is quite a bit smaller than the Pontiac Torrent's.
