The first model to feature General Motors’ new global rear-wheel drive architecture, the 2008 Pontiac G8 is a fire-breathing four-door sports sedan with a pair of powerful engines and modern, aggressive styling that marks Pontiac’s return to offering true performance vehicles.

The G8 is available in two trim levels – the base G8 sedan and the G8 GT. The base sedan boasts a 3.6 liter V6 engine with Variable Valve Timing producing 256 horsepower and 248 lb.-ft. of torque mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission with Driver Shift Control and Sport Mode for inspired acceleration and off-the-line power. The real showstopper is the 6.0 liter V8 engine with Active Fuel Management in the G8 GT. It produces 361 horsepower and a bombastic 385 lb.-ft. of torque pared with a 6-speed automatic transmission with Driver Shift Control and Sport Mode for blistering thrust and instantaneous passing power. GT models have a limited-slip rear differential that offers maximum grip and traction on the street or the track.

Standard safety features include 4-wheel vented disc brakes with an Anti-lock Braking System, Brake Assist, and Electronic Brake Force Distribution for supreme stopping power and minimal fade after repeated usage. Standard dual-stage front airbags, side-impact airbags and front/rear head curtain airbags with the Passenger Sensing System offers excellent passenger protection in a collision.
