New 2009 Pontiac G8

Building off of its landmark rear-wheel drive platform, the 2009 Pontiac G8 blends American muscle with European vigor putting Pontiac back on the map.There are two different engines to choose from. The base model comes with a 3.6-liter, 256-horsepower V-6 with five-speed automatic and manual mode. The GT comes with a 6.0-liter, 361-horsepower V-8 with six-speed automatic with Driver Shift Control and Sport Mode, which increases thrust and acceleration at a rate of 0-60 in 5.3 seconds. The GT also features a limited-slip rear differential that offers maximum grip and traction on the street or the track. The G8 gets 15-17 MPG city and 24-25 MPG highway, which is on par with its competitors: the Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300C. 

Both trims come with 18-inch wheels, while the GT model features a 6-disc in-dash CD changer and MP3 playback, a 6.5-inch color LCD display, equalizer, auxiliary input jack for your iPod® and a Blaupunkt® 11-speaker premium sound system that will rock you like a hurricane. General Motors OnStar® and XM® Satellite Radio come standard keeping you linked to unlimited music, directions and emergency contacts. The Premium Package includes leather seating surfaces, driver and passenger heated seats, a 6-way power driver and passenger seat adjuster, a rear center armrest, and a leather-wrapped shift lever and steering wheel. The available Sport Package includes Sport metallic pedals, 19-inch aluminum wheels, summer performance tires and a leather-wrapped Sport steering wheel.

Standard safety features include 4-wheel vented disc brakes with an Anti-lock braking system, Brake Assist, and Electronic Brake Force Distribution for supreme stopping power. Standard dual-stage front airbags, side-impact airbags and front/rear head curtain airbags with the Passenger Sensing System offers excellent passenger protection in a collision. Standard StabiliTrak vehicle stability control and all-speed Traction Control help keep the G8 firmly planted during evasive maneuvers and limit wheelspin on slippery surfaces.
