New 2009 Pontiac G3

Pontiac is throwing their fuel efficient hat into the ring with the all-new 2009 G3, which is a sporty, efficient and fun subcompact hatchback.

Almost an identical twin to the Chevrolet Aveo5, the G3 is powered by a 1.6-liter, 106-horsepower four-cylinder engine with 105 pounds-feet of torque.  The G3 is mated to a standard five-speed manual or optional four-speed automatic transmission.  If you’re looking to save money at the pump, you have found the right car.  The G3 receives excellent fuel economy with 25-27 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway. The G3 competes with the Scion xD, Kia Rio5 and the Toyota Yaris.

Featuring Pontiac’s split grille, standard fog lamps, rear lip spoiler and available 14- or 15-inch wheels; the G3 is crisp, sporty and functional.  Let the sunshine in through the optional sunroof to the moderately spacious interior that seats five passengers comfortably.  A standard 60/40-split folding backseat yields 7.1 cubic feet of cargo space when erect, 42 cubic feet when folded and 91 cubic feet of passenger space.  A standard 6-speaker AM/FM stereo with CD player and MP3 playback and auxiliary iPod/MP3 input jack provide excellent sound.  The optional XM® satellite radio gives you access to a wide-range of stations and the available leatherette seating brings a touch of luxury to the G3.  If you want to feel more connected with the road, the optional Sport Package boasts a leather-wrapped shift knob and leather-wrapped steering wheel.

When it comes to safety, the G3 features standard driver and front-passenger airbags and front side-impact airbags.  If your tires start to lose tire pressure, the standard tire pressure monitoring system will inform you.  Four-wheel antilock brakes and an alarm system are optional.  OnStar® service is optional, with available turn-by-turn navigation, 24-hour access to helpful advisors, and automatic crash notification to assist you in a variety of driving situations.
