2012 Nissan Rogue Overview
The efficient, sporty, stylish, and mischievous 2012 Nissan Rogue brings a breath of fresh air to the compact crossover segment.
For more responsive handling, the 2012 Nissan Rogue has added a Sport switch to all trims and a Special Edition Package to the S model. Steering wheel controls, a USB port, satellite radio, fog lights, and a backup camera are included in the Special Edition Package, while Nissan’s Around View Monitor is new in the SL Package. The Around View Monitor employs four wide-angle cameras to create a virtual overhead view of your surroundings, so you can see everything around you while parallel parking.
The 2012 Nissan Rogue isn’t a powerhouse, but rather a crossover for the city. A 170-horsepower, 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine is mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission and is available with front- or all-wheel drive and steering wheel mounted paddle shifters. What the Rogue loses in horsepower it makes up in fuel efficiency with 22 mpg in the city and 26-28 mpg on the highway. The Rogue can get up to 400 miles on a single tank, which would be enough to get you from Los Angeles to San Francisco without stopping. Not bad for a crossover that competes with the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4.
The 2012 Rogue seats five in two rows of seats with 28.9 cubic feet of cargo space. The 60/40 split fold-down rear seatbacks and fold-down front passenger seat can maximize passenger space and almost 58 cubic feet of cargo volume. Standard features include air conditioning, power windows and locks, keyless entry, and auxiliary audio input, and USB/iPod integration. A navigation system, leather-wrapped steering wheel, Bluetooth® connectivity, and a keyless ignition system are all optional. Also optional is an eight-speaker Bose sound system with subwoofer that manages your music on a 4.3-inch color display.
On the exterior, the Rogue sits on standard 16-inch wheels while 17- and 18-inch aluminum-alloys are available. Heated mirrors, fog lamps, roof rails, xenon headlights, and a power sliding glass moonroof highlight the optional equipment.
In terms of safety, the 2012 Nissan Rogue features a host of standard equipment including: side-impact and side curtain airbags, active front head restraints, all-disc antilock brakes, an electronic stability control system, traction control, and a smart key that immobilizes the engine in an attempted theft.
Get tremendous bang for your buck with the fun and efficient 2012 Nissan Rogue.
