New 2009 Nissan Rogue

Versatility, fuel economy, cutting-edge tech features and reliability all define the unique 2009 Nissan Rogue crossover SUV.

The Rogue is available in two trims: the base S and loaded SL. Both trims feature a 2.5-liter, 170-horsepower I-4 engine, which provides more power than the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4. That alone is impressive, but the Rogue also gets 21-22 MPG in the city and 26-27 MPG on the highway. That means you’ll spend less money at the pump and have more power than the competition.

Nissan’s intuitive all-wheel drive system allows you to accelerate using all four wheels. The car recognizes when you hit cruising speeds, and turns off the power to two of the wheels. What’s even better is that if you are cruising with two wheels and start to take on a corner, the Rogue activates the power in the two other wheels, giving you four wheels for optimal traction.

When it comes to utility, the Rogue features a rear cargo organizer that helps maximize your storage space, a 60/40 split fold-down rear seat, and a fold-down front passenger seat. All told, the Rogue has 97.5 cubic feet for passenger space and 28.9 cubic feet of cargo room.

All of that cargo room is great, but if you’re behind the wheel, you’ll be more interested in the Garmin nüvi 750 Navigation System, Bluetooth connectivity and Nissan Intelligent Key keyless entry and ignition. The available Bose audio system with an in-dash 6-CD changer and eight custom-engineered speakers, XM Satellite Radio and auxiliary audio jack for your iPod make driving that much more enjoyable.

Nissan incorporates its “Safety Shield” approach to safety, which includes six standard airbags, rigorous crash testing and over 50 standard safety features. Standard Vehicle Dynamic Control and anti-lock braking system help slow your momentum when needed. Electronic stability and traction control also come standard.
