2013 Nissan NV200 Overview
Not all jobs require big lumbering work vans and the 2013 Nissan NV200 is a smaller alternative for those who want something that is both fuel and cost efficient for the job.
Small business owners will especially take note of the NV200, which offers a payload capacity of 1,500 pounds and a tight turning circle of 36.7 feet which makes it comfortable in urban environments. The NV200 is pretty unique looking with a more aggressive look up front that gives way to slab-like, flat sides and a squared off rear. 15-inch steel wheels are standard, as are dual sliding side doors and 60/40-split rear doors which can open a full 180-degrees for easier loading/unloading.
Under the hood, the NV200 utilizes a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that is mated to a continuously variable transmission (Nissan did not offer horsepower figures for the engine). The efficient transmission and the NV200’s smaller size mean it has a large advantage over bigger commercial vans when it comes to fuel economy, checking in at an EPA estimated 24/25 mpg city/highway.
Inside the NV200 makes the most of its space offering a versatile cargo area and a few welcome features up front as well, such as a large center console storage area that can fit a laptop and a passenger seat that folds flat to be used as a table. Behind the front seats is 123 cubic feet of cargo space, with optional mounting points where aftermarket shelving or racks can be installed for better organization. Power windows and locks, cruise control, navigation, and Bluetooth connectivity are also available.
Antilock brakes, side-impact and side curtain airbags, and an electronic stability system are standard. For safer maneuvering in tight spaces, a backup camera is optional.
