2012 Nissan NV Passenger Overview
For 2012, Nissan debuts a brand new lineup of commercial vans which includes a passenger version known as the NV Passenger. The NV Passenger is based on the heavy-duty NV Cargo 3500HD, but instead of being outfitted for carrying cargo it offers you seating for up 12 passengers.
From the outside, all members of the 2012 NV van family look very distinctive. The front has an appearance more akin to a pickup truck than a van with a long hood and very sharp lines that extend from front to back. The NV Passenger has been designed with flexibility in mind, inside and out. Its side door is located on the passenger side and features a very wide opening as well as a low step-in height which makes entrance/egress of the NV Passenger a breeze, even for those passengers in the way back.
Under the hood, the 2012 NV Passenger features a powerful, 317-horsepower, 5.6-liter V-8 that makes 385 pounds-feet of torque and is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard. The addition of an optional towing kit allows the NV Passenger to tow up to 9,500 pounds with its impressive V-8.
Standard interior features include heavy-duty, waterproof vinyl seats, auxiliary audio input, and air conditioning. Additional features include a variety of power outlets spread throughout the cabin as well as seven available ceiling-mounted reading lights.
The NV Passenger comes with plenty of standard safety features, including four-wheel-disc antilock brakes, traction and stability control, and front airbag. Side-impact and side curtain airbags are optional, while the available rearview camera and rear sonar system contribute to safe backing.
