  • Full-size commercial passenger van
  • Seating for up to 12 passengers
  • Standard V-6 engine (V-8 optional)
The 2015 Nissan NV Passenger NV3500 HD is the passenger van version of the commercially focused NV3500 HD cargo van.

The NV3500 is one of three members of Nissan’s lineup of full-size commercial vans, joining the NV 1500 and NV 2500 HD. While the other two are exclusively cargo vans, while the 3500 HD is offered in two configurations, cargo (covered separately) or a 12-seat passenger van.  The cargo vans add a new SL trim level for 2015, but the Passenger van carries on unchanged.

From the outside, the NV series’ hallmark is its boxy style, with very upright sidewalls and a squared off, truck-ish nose. Out back, the two swing-out rear doors swing out to a 90-degree stop, and then can be released to open a full 243-degrees to fully expose the rear cargo opening. 17-inch steel wheels and privacy glass are standard.

Under the hood, the standard engine is a 261-hp, 4.0-liter V-6 that makes 281 pounds-feet of torque, with a more powerful 317-hp, 5.6-liter V-8 that makes 385 pounds-feet of torque optional. Both engines are mated to a five-speed automatic transmission and take regular gasoline. With a tow hitch installed, towing capacity maxes out 8,700 pounds (max payload is 2,645 pounds).

Inside you’ll find seating for twelve passengers across four-rows of seats. Air conditioning, eight cup holders, water-resistant seating fabric, and an auxiliary audio port all come standard. Extra technology features like navigation, dual-zone automatic climate control, and Bluetooth connectivity are optional. Also available are enhanced comfort features like heated front seats and leather upholstery.

Standard safety features include front, side-impact, and side curtain airbags, four-wheel disc antilock brakes, and an electronic stability system.
