Nissan Murano vs. Pontiac Torrent Review

The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. The Pontiac is significantly cheaper to get to the dealership than the Nissan. The Pontiac Torrent doesn't pale in comparison to the Nissan Murano when it comes to fuel economy. The Pontiac Torrent won't save you much money at the pump compared to the Nissan Murano. The Pontiac Torrent isn't much less costly than the Nissan Murano in terms of MSRP.

Utility
The Nissan Murano and the Torrent can accommodate the same number of passengers.

Convenience
You'll most certainly take the Pontiac Torrent for a fill-up approximately as often as the Nissan Murano.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Pontiac Torrent offers a bit more head room than the Nissan, there really isn't much of a difference. The Pontiac Torrent offers more head- and leg-room to your passengers than the Nissan Murano does.

Dimensions
The Pontiac Torrent's tank is roughly the same size as the Nissan Murano's, though the Nissan Murano's is a bit bigger. The Nissan Murano and the Torrent compete for the same parking spaces.

Handling
With its tighter turning circle, the Nissan is definitely sprier than the Torrent, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; however, keep in mind that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Pontiac Torrent's engine is slightly smaller than the Murano's, but not terribly so. Torque equals pickup, and the Nissan will have picked up and gone by the time the Pontiac Torrent finally gets moving. The Pontiac Torrent could learn a lesson or two from the Nissan Murano when it comes to torque.

The Torrent and the Murano have the same basic after-sale protection.
