Nissan Murano vs. Chevrolet Equinox Review

The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. It costs approximately the same to get the Equinox to the dealership as the Nissan. With respect to gas mileage, the Nissan Murano is somewhat better than the Chevrolet, but not by much. There frankly isn't much of a difference in gas mileage here, but if you must know, the Chevrolet Equinox is a little more economical than the Nissan. The Equinox isn't much less costly than the Nissan Murano when it comes to MSRP.

Utility
Neither the Chevrolet Equinox nor the Nissan Murano has a marked advantage when it comes to seating capacity. There's no clear winner between the Chevrolet Equinox and the Nissan Murano as far as transporting cargo.

Convenience
The Chevrolet Equinox's fuel tank will need to be replenished a little more often than the unit in the Nissan Murano.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Chevrolet offers a bit more head room than the Nissan Murano, there honestly isn't much of a difference. The Chevrolet Equinox offers more head- and leg-room to your passengers than the Nissan Murano does.

Dimensions
The Equinox's tank is approximately the same size as the Nissan Murano's, though the Nissan's is a little larger. The Nissan Murano and the Chevrolet compete for the same parking spaces.

Performance
In terms of horsepower, the Nissan Murano packs quite a punch and will knock the Chevrolet Equinox down a few rungs. However, remember that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Handling
With its tighter turning circle, the Nissan Murano is most certainly sprier than the Chevrolet Equinox, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; on the other hand, keep in mind that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The Chevrolet Equinox and the Nissan Murano have similar-sized engines, with a slight advantage to the Nissan Murano. Torque equals pickup, and the Murano will have picked up and gone by the time the Equinox finally gets moving. The Chevrolet Equinox could learn a lesson or two from the Nissan Murano when it comes to torque.
