2012 Nissan Murano Overview
2012 NISSAN MURANO
The well-appointed 2012 Nissan Murano continues to offer a class-above interior and plenty of power and features which should impress crossover shoppers.
There are many ways to customize the 2012 Nissan Murano and its four trim levels (S, SV, SL, and LE). There aren’t many changes for 2012 with the exception of a new Platinum Package and the addition of a seven-inch monochrome screen in the S trim. The Murano slots in-between the Rogue crossover and Pathfinder SUV, and competes with other near-luxury crossovers including the Ford Edge, Honda Pilot, and Toyota Highlander.
Powering the 2012 Nissan Murano is a 260-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 that generates 240 pounds-feet of torque for decent acceleration. Power flows through the front wheels from an Xtronic continuously variable transmission. The optional all-wheel system drive recognizes the difference between cruising and cornering, or dry and wet roads – and responds accordingly. Fuel estimates hit 18 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway, which Nissan says is good for a range of 475 miles per tank of gas.
The 2012 Nissan Murano sits on standard 18-inch wheels and features other standard equipment such as LED tail lights, chrome door handles, dual power outside mirrors, and UV-reducing solar glass. Optional goodies include 20-inch alloy wheels, high-intensity discharge bi-functional xenon projector headlights, fog lights, black and silver accented roof rails, and a power liftgate.
Light up your life with the optional dual panel moonroof, with power shades and ambient lights that add a soft glow when it’s dark outside. Utility abounds with a 60/40-split second row that folds flat with a quick pull of two levers. Then watch them electronically rise with the press of a button. The 2012 Murano seats five and has up to 64 cubic feet of cargo space for all of your stuff. Bluetooth® connectivity, push button start, touch-screen hard drive-based navigation system with XM NavTraffic and 3D Birdview, iPod integration, heated front and rear seats, Bose stereo system, and a dual-screen rear-seat DVD entertainment system are all optional.
A suite of airbags including curtain airbags that deploy in event of a rollover, active head restraints, four-wheel-disc antilock brakes, an electronic stability system with traction control are designed to keep you safe while inside the 2012 Nissan Murano.
Sleek crossover styling, ample power and high-tech features abound in the 2012 Nissan Murano.
