2011 Nissan Frontier Overview (See Available Styles)

Forge a new path anywhere you want to go with the off-roading specialist 2011 Nissan Frontier compact truck.

The 2011 Nissan Frontier renamed three of its trims to S, SV and SVL, while keeping the name for the off-road PRO-4X.  The Frontier can be had in King Cab or crew-cab body styles, with a standard or long bed, and in 4x2 or 4x4 configurations.  The Frontier offers two engine choices: a 152-horsepower, 2.5-liter dual-overhead-camshaft inline-four-cylinder mated to a five-speed manual transmission, and a 261-horsepower, 4.0-liter dual-overhead-camshaft V-6.  A five-speed automatic transmission is standard on crew-cab models and is optional on entry-level Frontier S models.

If you need lots of cargo space, the Frontier’s long bed is more than 13 inches longer than the standard bed, and a factory spray-on bedliner is available on V-6 models for those who plan to get down and dirty.  If you plan on towing heavy loads, the 2010 Nissan Frontier King Cab V-6 can tow up to 6,500 pounds when properly equipped, which is comparable to the Toyota Tacoma.  EPA-estimated fuel economy ranges between 14-19 mpg in the city and 19-23 mpg on the highway.

For the serious off-roader, PRO-4X models include off-road tuned Bilstein high-pressure performance gas shock absorbers, additional skid plates, a steel wishbone front suspension, and power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering.

Inside, the Frontier gets a pair of comfortable front bucket seats.  A Rockford Fosgate audio system with six-disc in-dash CD, satellite radio, and MP3 capability is optional, and a Bluetooth hands-free phone system is available with the Technology Package.  An auxiliary input jack for your mobile MP3 device is standard.  New seat fabric is available in the SL models, and the four-cylinder SV features upgraded seat fabric.  All trims feature two glove boxes to help maximize interior space.

A standard electronic stability system that automatically applies the brakes and cuts the throttle under unsafe driving conditions is standard on V-6 models.  Hill start assist and hill descent control are standard on all SV and SVL four-wheel-drive, automatic transmission models.  Two-wheel or four-wheel active brake limited slip is standard for all SV and SVL V-6 models.  Side curtain airbags and three-point seat belts in all locations are standard.

Handle all obstacles that get in your way with the powerful, rugged and comfortable 2011 Nissan Frontier.
