2010 Nissan Frontier Overview
Blazing new frontiers in the mid-size pickup segment, the 2010 Nissan Frontier’s standard safety features were revised to include side curtain airbags on all models and vehicle dynamic control on all V-6 models.

The Nissan Frontier was restyled in 2009 featuring a new front fascia, grille and headlight designs. Available in XE, SE, LE and PRO-4X trim levels, King Cab and Crew Cab body styles, standard and long bed versions and 4x2 and 4x4 driveline configurations, the 2010 Nissan Frontier has something for everyone.  The Frontier offers two engine choices: a 152-horsepower, 2.5-liter dual-overhead-camshaft inline-four-cylinder mated to a five-speed manual transmission and a 261-horsepower, 4.0-liter dual-overhead-camshaft V-6. A five-speed automatic transmission is standard on Crew Cab models and is now available on entry-level Frontier XE models.

The long bed is more than 13 inches longer than the standard bed and EPA-estimated fuel economy ranges between 14-19 mpg in the city and 19-23 mpg on the highway.  If you plan on towing heavy loads, the 2010 Nissan Frontier King Cab V-6 can tow up to 6,500 pounds when properly equipped, which is comparable to the Toyota Tacoma.

For the serious off-roader, PRO-4X models include off-road tuned Bilstein high-pressure performance gas shock absorbers, additional skid plates, a steel wishbone front suspension and power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering.  A Rockford Fosgate audio system with six-disc in-dash CD, satellite radio and MP3 capability are optional.  Bluetooth hands-free phone system and XM Satellite Radio are available with the Technology Package.

A standard electronic stability system automatically applies the brakes and cuts the throttle under unsafe driving conditions is standard on V-6 models. Hill start assist and hill descent control are now standard on all SE and LE four-wheel-drive automatic transmission-equipped models and two-wheel or four-wheel active brake limited slip is standard for all SE and LE V-6 models.

The 2010 Nissan Frontier has solidified its standard safety features for 2010 and offers a little something for everyone, including the PRO-4X model and excellent towing capability for the off-road enthusiast.
