2009 Nissan Altima Overview
The 2009 Nissan Altima gives the buyer limitless options but stays true to its high performance, safe and comfortable roots. The five passenger vehicle is mostly a carryover from the 2008 version, and thus retains all the great elements that have made the Altima a perennial favorite. Available in sedan and coupe versions, the Altima comes in a variety of trims. The sedan trims include the 2.5 Base, the 2.5 S, the 3.5 SE and the 3.5 SL. Coupe trims are available in 2.5 S and 3.5 SE. Both body trims are powered by a 2.5-liter, 175-horsepower V-6 or a 3.5-liter, 270-horsepower V-6. The coupe's body styling is especially sleek in the 2009 model.
Often compared to the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord, the Nissan Altima not only cost less, but gets comparable or better gas mileage (23 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the freeway). The Altima also features the Xtronic CVT transmission with overdrive, while the others utilize a standard five-speed manual transmission. The Altima also comes with an in-dash CD player (except for the 2.5 trim) and two second row LCD screens standard.
