2012 LA Auto Show: The Latest in New Car Debuts and Technology

by Brian Wong (Nov 30, 2012)

The 2012 Los Angeles International Auto Show showcases the latest and greatest in the world of automotive, with plenty of World and North American debuts.

So while everyone might not be able to make it out to Los Angeles to see the spectacle, we have you covered! We take a close look at some of the most anticipated new cars that car shoppers should keep an eye on. This year, there was an emphasis on the latest wave of plug-in hybrid cars and a few remakes of popular models like the 2013 Honda Civic and the 2014 Toyota RAV4. Scroll down to see images and get the latest information on some of the important new cars that were featured at the 2012 LA Auto Show (click the image or the link for more information on that particular model).

Check back on this page throughout the show to see the latest updates we've posted on some of the biggest cars to come out this year and next!

2014 Subaru Forester
The 2014 Subaru Forester is a welcome addition to the compact crossover segment, offering added interior room and comfort, better performance from a brand new engine, and improved fuel economy. It also gets new styling and some added safety features. We were very impressed with the new Forester, click through to see why.

2013 Honda Civic
Although it was redesigned just last year, the The 2013 Honda Civic gets a significant refresh that brings new styling inside and out, as well as an upgraded interior. The 2013 Civic not only debuted here at the LA Auto Show, but it also went on sale. So how does the new Civic fare? We rather liked it, click through to find out why.

2013 Hyundai Santa Fe
The 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe gets a complete makeover for 2013 that includes a new purpose. For 2013, the Santa Fe split into two models: the Santa Fe Sport and the larger Santa Fe which we had a chance to get some hands-on time with at the show this year. It also gets brand-new styling and an upscale interior, but the Santa Fe has one catch to it that may turn off families looking for a three-row crossover. Click through to see our impressions and find out if the 2013 Santa Fe, which we really like for some car buyers but not for others, might be the car for you.

2013 Toyota RAV4
Long overdue for an update, Toyota finally gave its compact crossover a makeover for 2013. The 2013 Toyota RAV4 drops the V-6 engine option, but adds plenty of fuel economy, refinement, and new styling in a move that directly aims the RAV4 at the rest of the competition. There are lots of compact crossovers and SUVs vying for attention (and dollars) these days, so does the new RAV4 offer enough to jump ahead of the pack? Click through to find out.
