2009 Mitsubishi Raider Overview
The 2009 Mitsubishi Raider is a step above the competition with adequate power, towing/payload capacities, six-passenger seating and a wealth of standard amenities.
Available in two trim levels – LS and SE – as an Extended Cab or a four-door Double Cab model, the Raider features a 3.7-liter, 210-horsepower V-6 engine generating 235 lb.-ft. of torque and is mated to a six-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic transmission for decent thrust. The Raider has a maximum towing capacity of 4,150 pounds and a maximum payload capacity of 1,730 pounds. Based on the Dodge Dakota, the Raider gets 16 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway.
When it comes to cargo space, the Raider delivers. The Extended Cab has a six-foot, four-inch cargo bed and the Double Cab has a five-foot, three-inch bed. Double Cab models seat six passengers and have dual rear-hinged access doors that allow easy access to the rear seats.
Inside, the Raider features a standard AM/FM stereo with single-disc CD player, front-mounted auxiliary audio input jack for your iPod®, and optional SIRIUS® Satellite Radio for coast-to-coast digital programming. Standard cruise control, power windows, power door locks, and air conditioning round out a basic, yet functional package.
Safety features include dual advanced front airbags to protect passengers in a collision and a rear-wheel Antilock Braking System to prevent wheel lockup during hard braking. A standard remote keyless entry system allows you to open and close the vehicle from a distance. Unique, functional styling elements include parabolic fog lights that increase visibility, chrome-clear taillights that have an aftermarket look, a chrome exhaust tip, and a heavy-duty bedliner.
For truck buyers putting an emphasis on engine performance, towing capability, and interior room, the 2009 Mitsubishi Raider will fit the bill quite nicely.
