2010 Mitsubishi Outlander Overview
Remarkably comfortable and fuel efficient, the 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander compact crossover offers V-6 power, a restyled interior/exterior and is loaded plenty of modern technology.
Available in base ES, SE and XLS trim levels, the 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander is equipped with two 2.4-liter inline-4 engine options—one that produces 161 horsepower and another that generates 168 horses—and a 230-horsepower, 3.0-liter V-6. Transmission choices include a six-speed CVT or six-speed automatic with auto-manual shift capability. EPA estimated fuel economy ratings are pretty impressive, ranging between 18-21 mpg in the city and 24-27 mpg on the highway.
The 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander competes with the likes of Nissan Rogue and Kia Sportage in the compact crossover segment. A new, menacing blacked-out grille and refined interior electronics and appointments highlight the Outlander’s 2010 enhancements. Available in all-wheel drive, the Outlander features a flip-down tailgate capable of holding up to 440 pounds designed to enable easier loading and an optional third-row seat.
The base ES sits on 16-inch wheels and offers a host of standard features including a six-speaker CD audio system, a trip computer, full power accessories, Bluetooth connectivity and reclining rear seats. An optional convenience package adds alloy wheels, heated sideview mirrors, roof rails, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, steering-wheel audio controls and an auxiliary audio jack. The SE rests on 18-inch wheels and adds remote keyless ignition and entry, fabric sport seats, a 650-watt Rockford Fosgate stereo and satellite radio.
The premium XLS is standard equipped with a third-row seat that allows up to seven occupants, automatic climate control, voice-activated Bluetooth connectivity and second-row seat adjustments. The Sun and Sound package includes a sunroof and an upgraded audio system with satellite radio. A navigation package includes a hard-drive-based navigation system that can also store and play digital music files. A luxury package provides xenon headlights, leather upholstery, heated front seats and a power driver seat. With the second- and third-row seats folded flat, the 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander offers 73 cubic feet or cargo volume.
The 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander’s standard safety offerings include antilock disc brakes, electronic stability control, front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags and front head restraints, all of which have enabled it to earn a Five-Star rating for front and side-impact protection in government crash tests.
The freshly redesigned and spacious 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander compact crossover boasts competitive fuel efficiency and is an excellent choice for your everyday drive.
