2010 Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback Overview

The Lancer Sportback is a hatchback version of the popular Lancer sedan and is powered by a selection of four-cylinder engines, including a 168-horsepower, 2.4-liter engine or a 237-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter motor. Fun, precise and efficient transmission choices range from a continuously variable transmission to a five-speed manual and a dual-clutch transmission. Fuel economy ratings are 17-21 mpg city and 25-27 mpg highway. Power and fuel economy slot between the Mazda MAZDASPEED3 and Mazda3 wagons, and fuel economy is on par with the Subaru Impreza wagon.

The RALLIART edition, with its aggressive body styling and dual exhaust, grips the road tight with a full-time all-wheel drive system and model-specific suspension tuning. Delivery of power to the road is enhanced by an active center differential. An alloy fuel filler door, six-CD changer, aluminum interior trim, leather seats and remote engine start are excellent stand-alone options. A package with a hard-drive based navigation system is available, as well as the Recaro® Sport Package, which includes Recaro® sport front seats, HID headlamps and a 710-watt Rockford Fosgate® nine-speaker stereo with ten-inch subwoofer and SIRIUS Satellite Radio.
Active Stability Control is a great standard safety feature at this price point, and joins antilock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution in enhancing accident avoidance. Seven airbags, including a driver’s knee airbag, provide excellent impact cushioning and help the 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer deliver Four- and Five-Star front impact ratings in government testing.
