2010 MINI John Cooper Works Overview
When you want to go big – as in power – but you want to go small – as in compact car with high fuel efficiency – then go with the 2010 Mini John Cooper Works.

Big power comes courtesy a 208-horsepower, turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-four direct-injected engine. This driving force is sent through a six-speed manual transmission to the front wheels. Resulting fuel economy is rated at 26 mpg city and 34 mpg highway. With this hot motor, the John Cooper Works edition of the Mini approaches the power level of the Volvo C30, beats the Volkswagen GTI and leaves the Mazda3 wagon in the dust, while delivering fuel economy far superior.

The unforgettable Mini appearance comes in hatchback and convertible styles, has unique body pieces, a rear spoiler and John Cooper Works badging. To make your Mini more unique, celebrate your British heritage with the Union Jack on the roof, or add some racing stripes. Inside, huge gauges are both easy to see and visually interesting. Interior room is good, with front and rear headroom beating those metrics in the Volkswagen Eos and Mitsubishi Eclipse. Luggage capacity behind the rear seats is scant, but use rear seat room for storage and you get 24 cubic feet.

The Premium Package adds a dual pane panoramic sunroof and a Harman Kardon audio system. Bluetooth connectivity, heated seats, various seat materials, multiple interior trims and 50th anniversary Mini appearance upgrades are also available.

Fun is engineered into the structure and suspension of the 2010 Mini John Cooper Works, so driving is fun at any speed. The suspension is tuned for smiles, while a suspension upgrade is available for even more driving pleasure.

Safety is high for the mighty Mini. Four-wheel antilock disc brakes - including big Brembo® brakes up front - with electronic brake-force distribution and Corner Brake Control provide excellent stopping power, and Dynamic Stability Control keeps the 2010 Mini John Cooper Works poised in low-grip situations, so you that you don’t have to find out for yourself that this car achieves Four- and Five-Star crash test ratings in government testing.

The tire-smokin’ power and thrilling ride characteristics promised by the body styling is delivered in full by the 2010 Mini John Cooper Works.
