MINI Cooper vs. Volvo C70 Review

Performance
The Cooper is likely to feel a tad sluggish because of its high horsepower-to-weight ratio compared to the Volvo C70.

Handling
The Volvo C70 has considerably bigger tires than the MINI Cooper. Note that wider tires might look and feel better, while narrower tires may improve gas mileage. With its tighter turning circle, the MINI Cooper is definitely more agile than the Volvo C70, something to consider if you do a lot of city driving; on the flip side, remember that a vehicle with a tight turning circle may feel a bit twitchy on the highway.

Drivetrain
The MINI's engine is tremendously smaller than the Volvo C70's. Keep in mind that smaller engines can be stressed more; on the other hand, smaller engines typically get better gas mileage. Torque is roughly equivalent to acceleration, and in this respect, the Volvo C70 is tremendously more powerful than the Cooper. The Volvo C70 packs quite a wallop compared to the MINI when it comes to torque, which is the force that lets you accelerate quickly.

Utility
The MINI Cooper is a better choice than the Volvo C70 as far as transporting cargo, especially if you frequently need to carry a lot of suitcases or big animals. The MINI Cooper and the Volvo C70 can accommodate the same number of passengers.

Convenience
You'll most definitely take the MINI Cooper for a fill-up roughly as often as the C70. You very likely won't have to visit your friendly gas station more often with the MINI Cooper than with the C70, as both offer similar ranges.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Cooper offers a bit more head room than the C70, there frankly isn't much of a difference. The Volvo C70 provides more head- and leg-room to your passengers than the MINI Cooper does.

Dimensions
The Volvo C70 is markedly more ponderous than the Cooper. Your wallet will hurt more every time you fill up the Volvo C70 than the MINI because of its larger tank. The Cooper fits in smaller parking spaces than the Volvo. The MINI Cooper's shorter wheelbase may produce a less-settled highway ride but a sprier feel in daily traffic than the C70.

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. The MINI Cooper is significantly cheaper to get to the dealership than the Volvo C70. With respect to fuel economy, the MINI bests the Volvo C70. The Volvo C70 will tax your gasoline budget significantly more than the MINI Cooper will. Producing a precise gas mileage evaluation is so hard that some think not even the federal government can do it, but it looks as though the MINI Cooper is the winner as far as gas mileage. The Volvo C70 is tremendously costlier than the Cooper in terms of MSRP. The MINI Cooper is tremendously less expensive than the Volvo C70 when it comes to out-the-door price. The MINI Cooper will save you a bundle at the pump every year compared to the Volvo C70.

Overview
The Volvo C70 and the MINI Cooper have the same basic after-sale protection.
