MINI Cooper vs. Volkswagen Eos Review

Cost
The destination charge is a standard charge for transporting the vehicle from its point of origin to the dealer. The MINI is significantly cheaper to get to the dealership than the Eos. When it comes to gas mileage, the MINI Cooper and the Volkswagen Eos don't differ much. The MINI Cooper won't save you much money at the pump compared to the Volkswagen Eos. As far as MSRP, the Cooper costs quite a bit less than the Eos.

Utility
The MINI Cooper's bigger trunk will accommodate more massive objects than the Volkswagen Eos. Neither the Cooper nor the Volkswagen Eos has a marked advantage as far as seating capacity.

Convenience
The MINI Cooper's fuel tank will need to be replenished somewhat more often than the unit in the Volkswagen Eos.

Comfort
While the front cabin in the Cooper offers a bit more head room than the Volkswagen Eos, there honestly isn't much of a difference.

Dimensions
The Volkswagen Eos is quite a bit more ponderous than the MINI Cooper. The MINI Cooper's tank is approximately the same size as the Volkswagen Eos's, though the Volkswagen Eos's is somewhat larger. The MINI Cooper fits in smaller parking spaces than the Eos.

Performance
With respect to horsepower, the Volkswagen Eos packs quite a wallop and will knock the MINI Cooper down a few rungs. On the other hand, note that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Handling
The Volkswagen Eos has significantly wider tires than the MINI. Remember that bigger tires can improve handling, while narrower tires might improve gas mileage. With their similar turning radiuses, the MINI Cooper and the Volkswagen Eos likely handle about the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The MINI's engine is substantially smaller than the Volkswagen Eos's. Keep in mind that smaller engines can be stressed more; on the flip side, smaller engines are often cheaper to fix. Torque is roughly equivalent to acceleration, and in this respect, the Volkswagen is tremendously more powerful than the MINI Cooper. The Eos packs quite a wallop compared to the MINI when it comes to torque, which is the force that lets you accelerate quickly.

Overview
The Eos and the Cooper have the same basic after-sale protection.
