MINI Cooper vs. Volkswagen Eos Review

Performance
When it comes to horsepower, the Volkswagen Eos packs quite a punch and will knock the Cooper down a few rungs. However, keep in mind that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

Handling
With their similar turning circles, the MINI Cooper and the Eos definitely handle about the same into and out of tight spots.

Drivetrain
The MINI Cooper's engine is significantly smaller than the Volkswagen Eos's. Remember that smaller engines can be stressed more; however, smaller engines are often cheaper to fix. Torque equals pickup, and the Eos will have picked up and gone by the time the MINI Cooper finally gets moving. Torque is the force that lets you accelerate quickly, and in this respect, the Volkswagen Eos is tremendously more powerful than the MINI Cooper.

Utility
The MINI Cooper and the Volkswagen Eos can accommodate the same number of passengers. There's no clear winner between the Volkswagen Eos and the Cooper as far as transporting cargo.

Convenience
You will definitely have to visit your friendly gas station more often with the Volkswagen than with the MINI Cooper.

Comfort
Taller drivers will significantly enjoy the extra head room in the MINI Cooper's front cabin compared to the Volkswagen. The Volkswagen Eos is not particularly roomier for your passengers than the MINI Cooper.

Dimensions
The Eos is tremendously heavier than the MINI Cooper. The MINI Cooper's tank is approximately the same size as the Volkswagen Eos's, though the Volkswagen Eos's is a little bigger. The MINI Cooper fits in smaller parking spaces than the Volkswagen Eos.

Cost
The Volkswagen Eos guzzles a lot of gasoline compared to the MINI. Producing an accurate fuel economy evaluation is so hard that some think not even the federal government can do it, but it looks as though the MINI Cooper is the winner when it comes to fuel economy. The Cooper is tremendously less pricey than the Volkswagen Eos when it comes to MSRP. The MINI Cooper will save you a bundle at the pump every year compared to the Eos.

Warranty
The basic warranty that comes with the Volkswagen Eos isn't quite as generous as the MINI's.
