With respect to horsepower, the Pontiac Solstice packs quite a wallop and will knock the MINI Cooper down a few rungs. On the flip side, keep in mind that high horsepower engines often command higher insurance premiums.

The Pontiac Solstice's tank is approximately the same size as the MINI's, though the MINI's is a tad larger. The MINI Cooper and the Pontiac Solstice compete for the same parking spaces.

The Pontiac Solstice's fuel tank will need to be replenished more often than the unit in the MINI Cooper.

It costs approximately the same to get the Pontiac Solstice to the dealership as the MINI Cooper. The Cooper will save you money at the pump compared to the Pontiac. As far as gas mileage, the MINI Cooper bests the Pontiac Solstice. The Pontiac Solstice is significantly pricier than the MINI as far as MSRP. The Pontiac Solstice will cost you a lots_of_money in gasoline every year compared to the MINI Cooper. The MINI Cooper will save you a lots_of_money at the pump every year compared to the Pontiac Solstice.

Drivetrain
The Solstice's engine is substantially more sizeable than the MINI Cooper's. Keep in mind that bigger engines may use more gasoline than smaller ones. The MINI Cooper could learn a lesson or two from the Pontiac Solstice with respect to torque. Torque is the force that lets you accelerate quickly, and in this respect, the Solstice is considerably more powerful than the Cooper.

While the front cabin in the MINI Cooper offers a bit more head room than the Pontiac Solstice, there frankly isn't much of a difference.
